Flowers found near the Shore
Some of these plants are only found along or close to the shingle beach, but others, although fairly common near the shore, can also be found inland
Sea-kale
Sea-kale can be found all along the shore but the best display each summer is below Galley Hill.
Hottentot Fig
This very invasive plant provides a mass of colour along the cliff-face at Galley Hill. As well as this pink form there is also a yellow version.
Tree Mallow
These very distinctive flowers can be seen all along the beach, where the plants grow, often against the beach wall.
Alexanders
This plant can be found along the cliff edge at Galley Hill. It is also very common along road-side verges, such as along Hastings Road.
